Getting Here

No direct flights between Entebbe and Cape Town — everyone connects through a hub. The two routes guests will pick from are Ethiopian Airlines via Addis Ababa and Kenya Airways via Nairobi. Both fly daily.

Wedding day: 11 September 2026. Aim to land in Cape Town by 10 Sept and fly back from 13 Sept onward. Fares are usually cheapest 3–6 months out — if you wait until August, expect a 30–50% premium.

Booking tips

Things we wish someone had told us before we booked the first time.

  • Book by June 2026. September is South Africa’s spring season — fares jump as it approaches.
  • Compare via aggregators first. Skyscanner / Google Flights show both airlines side-by-side. Then book on the airline’s own site for easier changes.
  • Check baggage carefully. Ethiopian usually allows 2×23kg checked on long-haul economy; Kenya Airways often 1×23kg. Differences add up if you’re bringing gifts.
  • Mind the layover. 2–4 hours is comfortable. Anything under 90 min is risky — especially in Addis or Nairobi at peak times.
  • Loyalty: KQ → SkyTeam, ET → Star Alliance. Credit your miles if you collect with Delta/Air France or United/Lufthansa.
  • Visa first. Don’t book non-refundable flights until your SA visa is sorted.

If you’d like help coordinating arrivals — airport pickup, sharing a taxi to the hotel, or a group booking — drop a note when you RSVP and we’ll loop you in with other guests on the same day.
